Apple crumble and Autumn delights

This summer has certainly been exceptionally hot compared to the temperatures we're normally used to for UK Summers. I was certainly glad of the trees I planted in my garden many years ago to provide some shade on the hotter days.

I've got an apple tree which had 3 types of apple grafted into the root, so in effect it produces 3 different varieties of apples each Autumn. So after giving me some lovely shade this summer, the apples are nearly ripe and ready to be picked, albeit somewhat smaller than previous years due to the lack of water.

As the days cool down, I'm looking forward to baking some apple crumbles and curling up under a wool throw.

Have a look at the Country Mouse autumn collection for some inspiration for wool throws this Autumn.
