Country Mouse is excited to announce the launch of our new blanket collection, Scottish Merino Wool Blankets just in time for winter when they will really come into their own.

Country Mouse’s wool blankets are all woven in historic and traditional mills and this mill is no exception. For our new merino blanket collection, we have partnered with a Scottish mill that is based in the highlands of Scotland and has been creating fabrics since 1783.

Our Scottish merino wool blankets is a collection that will continue to grow and evolve. Each blanket has been chosen based upon its colours, patterns and of course, for being a merino wool blanket. The colours and patterns are beautiful and contemporary and will look perfect in any room of your home.

The Mill

The mill has a rich history dating back over 200 years. Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the location is stunningly beautiful, surrounded by mountains, forests, and rivers. The mill has been in operation since 1783, weaving some of the finest wool fabrics in the world.

The team has an incredible passion for quality, and every stage of the production process is carried out with the utmost care. They select only the best materials, use traditional weaving techniques, and finish each piece by hand. These qualities transfer through to the finished wool blanket.

Soft luxurious merino wool throws

Merino wool blankets were the first wool blankets that I stocked when I started  selling blankets back in 2015. I adore a wool blanket woven from Gotland wool, Swedish wool in fact any wool. However, I do have a soft spot for merino wool blankets. They are so soft against the skin, for their weight, they are incredibly soft. I will always stock merino wool blankets. For those who can find other wools scratchy or coarse, merino wool is the go-to blanket. The fibres are finer than hair and bend against your skin. That is why merino wool blankets are so soft. Merino is expensive but is a luxury fibre and an investment that will last for years and keep you warm. Merino wool blankets really are the warmest, softest and lightest weight blankets.
